About me

I am a PhD student in Computer and Information Science and Engineering at Syracuse University's College of Engineering and Computer Science. I also hold a Master's in Engineering Management, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Project Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. My academic work is grounded in operations research, where I study how to optimize systems like delivery routing and logistics — but more importantly, I care about how these systems impact people and communities in real life.

At my core, I am passionate about teaching and learning. Whether in a classroom, a workshop, or a community space, I am driven by the idea that education should feel accessible, engaging, and empowering. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into something people can connect with, and creating environments where students feel confident exploring STEM for themselves.

I am a first-generation college student from Kingston, Jamaica, and that journey has shaped how I show up in every space I enter. Navigating new systems and unfamiliar environments taught me resilience, but it also showed me how many students are capable of greatness when they are simply given the opportunity and support.

I am a GEM Fellow, IBM Fellow, and Women in Science and Engineering Fellow, and I have gained industry experience through internships at IBM, AIG, and QuickBase. Alongside my academic and professional work, I founded STEAMfluence, a program that grew out of my earlier initiative, Scholars on a Mission. What started as a student-led effort has become a long-term commitment to providing hands-on STEM learning experiences for students of color and underserved communities. The program has been recognized by Syracuse University and supported through the Orange Innovation Fund.

My work lives at the intersection of technology, education, and community. I am interested not just in building systems, but in teaching, mentoring, and creating spaces where people feel like they belong in those systems.
